Sonic Explorations app for iPhone and iPad

The sound walking app makes it possible to experience an indoor sound walk.
By using the app you can now move through locations and listen to sound collages interactively. The technology is based on Bluetooth and iBeacons.
The advantage over apps that use GPS is the much smaller resolution in distance measurement (1cm up to 10m). Compared to apps that use QR codes, you dont have to scan photos; activation works automatically.
In the app you have the option to select different locations and go on different sound walks to suit them.
After activating the scanner function, it searches for beacons nearby. If there is one or more beacons nearby and they are at the appropriate distance, a sound will be played. By overlaying several beacons and sounds, sound collages are created.
Some of the sounds are looped or played with a time delay.
This results in an immersive sound experience.
You can experience the Sound Walks by using the Sonic Explorer app on your own phone or via a provided device.
Since the installation does not take up any real space, it can be set up throughout the building or in several rooms. To install a sound walk in a building or room, you just have to place the individual beacons in the corresponding rooms.
